Westchester County is offering another Household Recycling Day event this weekend, this time at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown Heights.

Residents can bring their unused medications and plastic bags -- in addition to the usual household waste materials -- on Friday, May 9 from 1-3 p.m. and Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Those who bring at least 20 used but clean plastic bags will get a free reusable bag while supplies last. The county’s Mobile Shredder will also be available at the event for residents interested in shredding their personal papers to prevent identity theft.

Residents may bring pesticides, cleaning products, tires, computers, TVs and old cell phones for safe disposal.
