Westchester County Health Law prohibits any sanding and/or grinding of old paint on houses.  This is regardless of whether the paint contains lead or not. The paint must be removed only by recognized alternative methods to prevent air and soil pollution.  Please contact the Westchester County Department of Health - Division of Air Quality for further information.
