Building Permits are governed by the New York State Department of State and are issued by the Village of Pelham Building Department pursuant to the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, and Pelham Village Code Online. The State Code changed dramatically in 2002 with the adoption of the International BOCA Code.

All contractors performing work under Building Permits must submit a copy of their  Westchester County Home Improvement Contractor License to the Building Department.
